New Testament Greek

I've been doing a little work on my spare time translating (in order to learn) passages of the New Testament from Koine Greek into English, then into Spanish.

Before I post some of my translations, I will list a few of the web resources I found that have helped me do this kind of learning.

(Note: translation always requires a good level of knowledge of the original language, as in verb tenses and moods, as well as other technical details. Since I am seeking to become familiar with these things, I rely on the technical data often provided in the captions where that information is given.)

New Testament Gateway has a list of excellent sites of good Greek New Testament resources.

Biblos.com has an interlinear Greek - English New Testament that displays word information when you rollover a word.

And my trusty E-Sword has been a huge help in all this as well, with all its free Bible versions and Dictionaries.


Here's an example of some of the work I've done so far in translating:

Revelation Chapter One (Green=Grk., Blue=Eng., Red=Spn.)

Ἀποκάλυψις Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ, ἣν ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ ὁ θεός, δεῖξαι τοῖς δούλοις αὐτοῦ ἃ δεῖ γενέσθαι ἐν τάχει, καὶ ἐσήμανεν ἀποστείλας διὰ τοῦ ἀγγέλου αὐτοῦ τῷ δούλῳ αὐτοῦ Ἰωάννῃ,

The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to show to his slaves the things which must soon take place. And he made it known, sending it through his angel to his slave John,

Blessed is the one who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy and who keep that which is written in it, for the time is near.
